Julianne_McKenzie

Meet Julianne

How long have you been with DWSP?

Since the very beginning, back in 2006 when the practice was just Dee on her own.   I was on maternity leave at the time, so I helped out occasionally when she needed an extra pair of hands. That gradually grew over the last 12 years to the to the full time role I’m in now, supporting all 20 of our staff across all our clinics.

In a couple of sentences, talk us through your role at DWSP

I’m the Finance Manager so deal with a lot of the back office billing and invoices.  I spend a lot of time working with Medicare and helping families to understand what rebates they can access.

What is your favourite part of your role?

Seeing the positive changes in the clients over time, there’s nothing like meeting a family for the first time, then seeing them some months down the track when they are finishing up with us!  It’s also wonderful working with such a diverse and interesting team of therapists.

Where did you grow up?

Where didn’t I! New Zealand, America, England and then back to NZ again!

Before DWSP, what was the most interesting or unusual job you’ve ever had?

Probably the most interesting role besides this would be working in Construction, but the most unusual was putting designs and transfers on pottery before they were fired and sent out to stores.

What are your hobbies outside of work?

Gym, Hiking, camping. Every year we do a couple of family trips to the Victorian high country camping which is my favourite place to get away.

If you could be a superhero, what would your superpower be?

No one power, I just want to be Wonderwoman! Have you seen that movie?
